It’s good to be back!

Well, it’s been a very long time since I wrote a blog, about 14 years ago in the lead-up the Sydney Olympics as I recall, and at that time, I don’t know if the term “Blog” was even out there, but it’s essentially what I was doing on my website. I have tons of subjects I wish to write about, some fitness related, some not. Some rather vanilla topics, some anything but. After all, while my life has taken me in directions I never saw coming, I do have the luxury of being able to say I’ve had some unique and diverse experiences…to say the least. I’m certainly not your typical “runner”, so I hope to keep things interesting.

Bottom line is that if you’re looking for a consistently running / fitness related blog; you’ve probably come to the wrong place, though that direction will certainly not be ignored. Running related topics, yoga, fitness, diet, etc. will all be covered, but often, I will touch on issues that people don’t always feel comfortable talking about (namely involving mental illness, sexuality and the like). As you probably have gathered, I’m pretty comfortable in my own skin these days, and I’m unafraid to go down what perhaps is not the safe & easy path. I’m not here to bash you over the head with my opinions, but I’m very hopeful what I say just might be thought provoking. The safe road is the route I previously took, every single time. Not any more, not after what I’ve been through. It’s liberating to say the least!

All that being said, if you’re looking for me to go all controversial on you in these first several blogs, it’s not going to happen. While that’s where I prefer to go, admittedly, I’m saving those in my back pocket. At some point in the next year, I do want to share my story, on my terms, and at that time, I’ll be more willing to open the topics up considerably. That’s when I see this becoming a lot more fun and interesting. Trust me, not trying to dodge anything here, and not pretending like 2012 never happened, but I have some very valid reasons for holding my tongue for the time being.
